Not too many companies enjoy the honor of recognition from the highest officials in the land. But, CEMEX Philippines recently received the Governor's Citation for its "selfless display of corporate social responsibility."

CEMEX Philippines President Jaime Ruiz de Haro received the citation from Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, witnessed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The citation was conferred on CEMEX Philippines for its contribution in the upgrade of seven national bridges in the province of Cebu.

"This citation honors CEMEX Philippines for enabling the province of Cebu to be a model for public-private partnership in the delivery of basic services," Governor Garcia said.

Together with CEMEX Philippines, the Korean Electric Corp. (Kepco) was conferred the presidential citation for its contribution in the electrification goals of the Province.

Held recently at the Cebu Provincial Capitol, the conferment of the citation was witnessed by members of the diplomatic corps, national and local government officials, as well as officials from the various business sectors in Cebu.
