To help push government’s thrust to provide housing of suitable quality for the millions of low- and middle-income Filipino families, Solid Cement Corporation and APO Cement Corporation, both members of the CEMEX Philippines Group of Companies, entered into an agreement with the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) today.
The agreement calls for CEMEX Philippines to supply its cement products CEMEX Palitada King, Rizal Super, and Rizal Green for the various projects of SHDA members.
“CEMEX has supported SHDA since 2004,” CEMEX Philippines President Sergio Menendez said. “This agreement is an important step in helping us achieve our goals with respect to the development of the housing industry.”
As mass housing continues to be one of the centerpiece programs of the administration, CEMEX believes that the housing industry is one sector that can pump prime the economy.
The signing of the memorandum of agreement was led by Vice President Noli De Castro as Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Council and participated in by (from left) SHDA National Chairman Eduardo Alunan, SHDA president Bansan Choa, CEMEX Vice President for Commercial and Logistics Edwin Hufemia and CEMEX Vice President for Planning Paul Arcenas.
“CEMEX joins this collaborative effort with SHDA and the government, to help uplift Filipino families and gear them towards a better quality of life by addressing urban housing woes,” Menendez said. “With this agreement, CEMEX makes it possible for the Filipino dream to own a home become a reality," he added.
