CEMEX launches fleet visibility program

To promote safety, security and efficiency in the management of its transportation units, CEMEX Philippines, in partnership with Webcast, will use a powerful fleet management tool, the TrackMe System.

With TrackMe, the new technologies such as: Global Positioning System (GPS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Geographical Information System (GIS), Telemetry, the Internet, various telecommunications networks and other proven technologies are seamlessly converged. Webcast, through its TrackMe Analytics and Base Station Operator Worry-free Program, will provide CEMEX regularly with charts and maps in management reports to help the cement company supervise their assets.

Vehicle tracking is the main benefit of GPS. The initial phase of the program will concentrate on ensuring that all time-chartered transport units in Luzon are equipped with GPS transceivers. Many world-class companies have already availed of Webcast’s TrackMe System to pinpoint the location of their vehicles on a digital map.

Furthermore, route assignment, speed, distance traveled, and client turnaround time of the vehicles are also monitored. The next phase of the program will install TrackMe units on all CEMEX’s transportation units in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
